Wine lovers can taste the newest, fruitiest varieties of wine during the Bucks County Wine Trail's annual Nouveau weekend this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 12 and Nov. 13.
Nouveau wines are bottled young with little aging, offering light and sweet tastes. As is tradition in the Beaujolais region of France, the Bucks County wineries offer their own Nouveau from harvest.
Buckingham Valley Vineyards, Crossing Vineyards and Winery, Rushland Ridge Vineyards and Winery, and Sand Castle Winery will offer Nouveau wine tastings during the event. For those wineries that don't produce a Nouveau wine, other activities and new releases will be offered.
Bishop Estate Vineyard and Winery will release new batches of its Dark Bishop and Overworked Dry Riesling as part of Nouveau Weekend.
The winery will host three food trucks on Saturday, Nov. 12 from noon to 9 p.m. and live music from Mike Chet Beck from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 is Sangria Sunday. Guests can enjoy a special Sangria made with Bishop wines. The winery will also have a food truck onsite from noon to 6 p.m. and live music from James Lauchmen from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Crossing Vineyards and Winery will debut its 2022 Le Nouveau, the first fruits of the 2022 vintage during Nouveau Weekend on Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 from noon to 6 p.m. Le Nouveau will be available for a special price of $7 per glass. The winery will also feature live music both days. On Saturday, the ever-popular Kim and Chuck Duo will perform from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Guests can relax with Julia Melito’s mellow guitar and vocals on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Crossing Vineyards will also feature specialty cocktails - including a Nouveau Martini - and food and wine pairings throughout the weekend. For beer lovers, Crossing will have beer flights including seasonal favorite Pumpkin Spice Beer. Discounts will be available on purchases of four or more bottles.
Vino by Zzino will feature its two new releases: Carmenere, a dry red wine aged and oaked with a peppery finish; and a crisp and refreshing, lightly oaked Chardonnay.
*Please check with each winery to determine specific event times and details. Each winery sets its own hours and offerings.
