A Warrington man is facing charges after he allegedly used an expandable baton to assault two guests at a Halloween party in Chalfont last year.
Jayzin Pearce-Terrell, 19, has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault along with misdemeanor counts of possession of a weapon, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and related offenses, in connection with the Oct. 30, 2021, incident.
Central Bucks Regional Police were contacted on Oct. 31, 2021, by and male and female who reported they were allegedly assaulted by Pearce-Terrell during a Halloween party along the 100 block of Jansen Drive the evening prior. The female said she arrived at the party at approximately 10 p.m. and encountered Pearce-Terrell acting aggressively, who allegedly touched or groped the female and would not back off when asked, according to charging documents.
The female stated she observed Pearce-Terrell placing a tablet or pill into a water bottle, and not knowing his intentions, she notified others who subsequently decided to kick Pearce-Terrell out of the party, police said. Pearce-Terrell then allegedly began yelling, pulled out an expandable baton and struck the female in the face with it.
Pearce-Terrell then struck a male in the upper body and face with the baton, then fled the area, according to the criminal complaint.
The female reportedly provided police with photos of injuries both she and the male sustained in the attack, as well as video showing Pearce-Terrell holding an expandable baton, police said. She later positively identified Pearce-Terrell as her attacker through a photographic array, the report states.
Charges were officially filed against Pearce-Terrell on Feb. 10 and an arrest warrant was issued. He wasn’t taken into custody, however, until the warrant popped up during a traffic stop in Warwick Township on Nov. 1.
Pearce-Terrell was arraigned by District Judge Regina Armitage, who set bail at $20,000 unsecured. He was then released from custody, and his next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. in front of Judge Armitage.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause. This story was updated to reflect the child's current custody status.
