Pennypacker Mills Announces June Events

Looking for new and exciting events for the whole family to enjoy? Pennypacker Mills is the place! The following events will be held in June.

Meet Harriet Tubman

Saturday, June 4 at 4 p.m.

In celebration of Juneteenth, actress Millicent Sparks will bring to life the most famous conductor of the Underground Railroad, Harriet Tubman in a riveting performance. At the conclusion of her portrayal, Sparks will interact with the audience, responding in character to questions about Tubman’s life in slavery, the Underground Railroad, and the Civil War. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 4, at 4 p.m. for this special Porch Performance on the lawn of the Pennypacker mansion. Bring a chair to sit on.

Vintage Base Ball at its Best!

Saturday, June 25, 1-3 p.m.

Get transported back in time to a pleasant summer day in 1864 when spectators gathered on a grassy field to watch an exciting game of “baseball.” If you love history and sports, watch the Athletic Base Ball Club of Philadelphia and the Brandywine Base Ball Club introduce everyone to the sociable and well-played game that defined baseball in the years 1859 to 1872. When players or “ballists” take their positions, they sport authentic 19th century uniforms and play according to the rules and customs of the 1860’s. Bring a blanket or chair to watch the game, free admission.

Visitors can call (610) 287-9349 to pre-register for a tour or register online. To see a full list of upcoming events at Pennypacker Mills click here.
