Crews on Scene of Residential Fire in Hatfield Township

Area fire companies are currently on scene at a residential fire in Hatfield Township.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety (DPS), fire service personnel were dispatched to a home near the intersection of Woodside and Girard avenues at 8:17 a.m. for a report of a building fire. Sources at the scene said that upon arrival, firefighters encountered a basement filled with smoke, caused by an electrical panel.

No injuries have been reported.

The scene remains active at this time, and motorists should avoid the area. Units from the Hatfield Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company and Towamencin Fire Company were dispatched to the scene, according to DPS.
