North Montco Technical Career Center’s (NMTCC) Educational Foundation will host their inaugural car show fundraiser next month, complete with a variety of vehicles, food trucks, raffles and even some job opportunities.

The event is scheduled for April 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at North Montco Technical Career Center, located at 1265 Sumneytown Pike in Towamencin Township. Vehicles include imports, antiques, street rods, military vehicles and other vehicles from local dealerships, including Audi of Fort Washington, the Conicelli Autoplex, and J.L. Freed Honda.

Vehicle registration remains open at this time, at a fee of $20 per vehicle. Registration can be done online by clicking here. A rain date has been scheduled for April 10.

In addition to the vehicles, the event will offer other activities including the H&K Heavy Equipment Simulator, job opportunities with local employers, awards for “Best of” categories and raffles. Prizes include salon items from local shops, gift cards for a variety of services, restaurants and local retailers, and picnic tables from North Montco Carpentry.

On the food side, the event will feature food from Meatwagon BBQ, Philly Waffle Cabin and Diz’s Dogs.

The car show’s benefits will be going towards the school’s new education foundation, which started about two years ago. The money from donors and sponsors will help provide leading-edge technology and equipment to enhance student's learning and academic and technical achievement.

“We want to really engage the community as much as possible so that they are excited about coming here and seeing what we do and how,” said Denise Collins, acting Executive Director of North Montco Educational Foundation. “They benefit when our students are good as well—when our students are well prepared.”

Sponsors include:

The school will also utilize the funds to purchase leading-edge technology and equipment to enhance students' learning, academic and technical achievement.

“When you're running a technical school, you have to keep things very current, which costs a lot of money,” Collins said. “And it just helps the industry if we can prepare our students for their careers with the latest and greatest technology."

NMTCC is a vocational school that works with 9th through 12th grade students from North Penn, Souderton Area, Wissahickon, Methacton, and Perkiomen Valley School Districts. Students can explore different programs like construction carpentry, heating ventilation and air conditioning, culinary arts, electrical trades and health sciences, among many others.
