Telford Man Threatened Witnesses on Facebook After Being Sentenced to Probation for Assault, Police Say

A Telford man is being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility after he allegedly threatened a witness and victim on Facebook that were involved in a prior assault case against him.

In January, 35-year-old Quinton Petty pleaded guilty to summary charges of harassment and disorderly conduct in connection with an assault that occurred in July 2021. Petty was sentenced to probation as a result of his plea, court records show.

Only hours after Petty was sentenced, Hilltown Township Police were contacted regarding a nearly 11 minute video Petty had posted to Facebook, in which he allegedly communicated multiple threats via American Sign Language (ASL), police said. The video was then sent to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, who sent it elsewhere to be translated into English.

In reading the transcribed text, investigators said Petty allegedly made multiple threats towards the victim and a witness involved in the prior case, including “I will f---k you up” and “Watch your home.” Petty also stated that he was going after the victim and the witness and offered money to anyone who could provide their address, police said.

Petty was subsequently taken into custody in February and charged with one misdemeanor count of retaliation against a witness or victim. He’s being held on 10% of $5,000 cash bail and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 5 at 1 p.m. in front of District Judge Regina Armitage.

Court records also indicate a probation detainer has been filed against Petty, and a probation violation hearing has been scheduled for June 3 at 9 a.m.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
