Workers will be replacing an 8-inch water main on North Valley Forge Road from West Main Street to West Eighth Street starting the week of March 21, according to the North Penn Water Authority.
This new water main will replace an older 8-inch water main prone to breakage and will enhance the public water supply and fire protection to the residents of the borough.
The construction project will take approximately six to eight weeks to complete, weather permitting.
To ensure the public and workers’ safety, the road will be closed to through traffic during hours of work — 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Monday through Friday. "No Parking” signs will be posted the day before to designate the area of construction for that day.
The North Penn Water Authority requests residents to move their vehicles when their section of street is posted during construction hours. At the end of each workday, the roadway will be open and passable. School buses, emergency vehicles and residents will have access to their homes but may experience minor delays in some instances.
For residents' protection, the water authority has documented the property frontage of curbs, sidewalks, blacktop, lawns, and driveways to ensure that any damage that may be done is restored to at least current condition. All concrete, blacktop, or grassy areas that are dug up will be restored.
