A Warminster Township woman has been sentenced to probation for her role in a domestic assault that occurred in Hilltown Township last April.
Grace Anne Crews, 31, entered guilty pleas to two misdemeanor counts of simple assault and a summary count of harassment in Bucks County Common Pleas Court last week, stemming from the incident. Common Pleas Judge Raymond McHugh sentenced Crews to one year of probation, and she will have to pay $7,907.05 in restitution and court fees, according to court records.
Crews is also prohibited from having contact with the victim.
Additional charges of aggravated assault and possessing an instrument of crime were dropped in exchange for her plea. Felony charges of burglary and criminal trespassing were disposed at her preliminary hearing last year.
Hilltown Township Police said they were dispatched to the 800 block of East Creamery Road at 9:45 p.m. on April 4, 2021, for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, police said that Crews was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle in the driveway and the victim remained inside the home.
The criminal complaint states that police made contact with the victim, who had blood-soaked makeshift bandages covering his upper right arm. After the bandages were removed, police said they observed a “significant,” deep laceration approximately six inches long.
According to the complaint, the victim told police Crews would stay with him from time to time, however she did not live at the home, and she did not have a key to the residence. Investigators said the victim was sleeping in his bedroom when he was awoken by Crews and an argument ensued. Crews then grabbed a beer bottle, broke the bottle, and swung at the victim causing the injury, police said.
The victim was transported to Grand View Hospital via ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The criminal complaint states that the victim received more than 12 stitches.
Investigators said that Crews had forced entry into the home via smashing out the glass of an exterior rear door. Police attempted to speak with Crews on scene, but the complaint states that she was not forthcoming with information. She did, however, tell police that she was kicked in the knee prior to grabbing and breaking the bottle, the report states.
Crews remained free on $50,000 unsecured bail since her preliminary arraignment.
According to an article by Tiffini Theisen at the Orlando Sentinel, Crews was arrested again — this time with her father — following a bar fight at the Brass Monkey bar in Marathon, FL over Thanksgiving break. Read more about that arrest here.
