A former local soccer coach has been sentenced to probation after sending sexual texts and being sexually inappropriate with a 14-year-old female student both in person and on Snapchat.
Jordan Geller, 21, of Furlong, was sentenced last week to five years’ probation after pleading guilty to one misdemeanor count of corruption of minors. Felony charges of unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors were withdrawn in exchange for Geller’s plea, court records show.
As part of the sentence, Geller is prohibited from working with anyone under the age of 18, he must undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation, and he is prohibited from having contact with the victim.
The charges stem from an investigation by the Upper Gwynedd Township Police Department.
According to the criminal complaint, police responded to the victim’s home within the township on Nov. 9, 2020, to discuss inappropriate communication between the victim and a 20-year-old male, identified as Geller. The victim stated that she had been attending Total Soccer in Warminster for approximately six months, and during that time she became familiar with Geller and began to communicate with him outside of their training sessions, the report states.
The report states that on approximately Aug. 15, 2020, Geller began messaging the victim and making comments about the victim’s body, which made her feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the unwanted comments were also made in person while training, police said.
The comments continued over several months, and allegedly included efforts to compel the victim to sneak out of her home to meet with Geller, the report states. The victim repeatedly stated that she was not interested, but the comments and harassment continued, police said.
On Oct. 11, 2020, the complaint states that the victim received a message from Geller saying they needed to hook up prior to him leaving for college. When the victim stated that it would be illegal, Geller allegedly responded “idfc,” which is an abbreviation for “I don’t f---ing care,” according to the complaint.
Geller is also accused of sending the victim a semi-nude photo of himself in a state of sexual arousal, and he also allegedly groped the victim’s backside during a training session, police said.
On Jan. 22, 2021, Geller spoke with investigators at the Upper Gwynedd Police Department, at which point he allegedly confessed to being the sole owner of the Snapchat account, as well as to sexually communicating with the victim and knowing she was underage, the report states.
When reached for comment, the owner of the Total Soccer facility stated that when the victim informed him of the accusations, the facility immediately terminated Geller’s employment. Afterwards, the owner said he worked with the victim to come forward to police, and the facility fully cooperated with the investigation.
Employees are heavily screened before being hired, the owner said, including thorough criminal background checks prior to employment. Geller had passed all checks prior to his employment, according to the facility.
