Carlee Myers Personal Training Named Lansdale's Business Of The Month

Lansdale’s latest Business of the Month strives to have people "train today, transform tomorrow.”

Richard Strahm, vice chair of the Lansdale Economic Development Committee, presented Carlee Myers Personal Training, 427 W Main Street, as Lansdale’s Business of the Month for June 2022 during Wednesday night’s borough council meeting.

Myers was born and raised in Lansdale and graduated from the North Penn School District, Strahm said in his presentation. Her father Ken still lives in the borough, and her late mother Gabbi was the swim coach of the North Penn Aquatics Club. Myers swam and played water polo throughout high school and college.

She earned her bachelor’s in exercise physiology in 2007 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She also received certifications from the American Aerobic Association International, American Fitness Professionals and Associates, and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.

She worked as a physical therapy aide for 10 years in Lansdale and later launched her personal training career — beginning as a mobile personal trainer in 2017 and then opening up her own studio on North Broad Street just outside of Lansdale in 2018.

Myers eventually moved her business to Main Street in Lansdale as it began to grow in 2019, a dream of hers since the beginning. "I love this community,” Myers said.

However, when businesses were shut down in March 2020, gyms were hit particularly hard because that industry was among last to be allowed to reopen.

Rather than accepting the shutdown as a loss, Strahm said, she took it as an opportunity to expand. She began offering virtual classes and gained popularity across the country. Recently, she was able to expand her space and took over the former Wave Reviews stylist shop next door.

"She loves getting people back to exercise and helping them get further into a healthy lifestyle through exercise,” Strahm said. "She’s not all about the gym bodies — her goal… is to help people become a better version of themselves.”

Myers and her staff — including Angela, Stefani, Yondel and Krista as well as gym administrator Cassie — work with their clients to learn how to use gym equipment and have confidence in any gym. They also offer one-on-one sessions and group classes.

"When you’re at Carlee’s gym, it’s a safe space — whether you’re using exercise equipment, treadmills, are in a private session or a group class,” Strahm said.
