Reward Offered In Search For Suspected Killer In Montco Shootout

Montgomery County has posted a $5,000 reward in the hunt for a suspected killer.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Pottstown Police Chief Mick Markovich announced an arrest warrant was issued for Tyshaun Harvey, 21, of Pottstown, in connection with the May 29, murder of 22-year-old Nahmer Baird in Pottstown.

The public's help is being requested, with a $5,000 reward offered for information leading to Harvey’s arrest.

The murder occurred Sunday, May 29, at approximately 8 p.m. Pottstown Police responded to a report of a shooting in 400 block of West Street, and found Baird in the driver’s seat of a white Nissan Sentra, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Baird was pronounced dead at Pottstown Hospital.

Police said that a joint homicide investigation by Montgomery County Detectives and Pottstown Police learned that a black Chrysler 300 owned and driven by Harvey was following the Sentra through the streets of Pottstown for 40 minutes before there was an exchange of gunfire between the occupants at Locust Alley and West Street.

After the shooting, according to police, Baird’s vehicle traveled east on West Street for  two blocks before crashing head-on into a Dodge pickup. The Chrysler 300,  recovered in Pottstown by detectives, was found to have four bullet strikes to the front and passenger side of the vehicle, they said.

Harvey is 5-foot 5-inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Harvey is considered armed and dangerous; anyone who sees him should not approach but immediately call 911.

Anyone with information on Harvey’s whereabouts should call Pottstown Police at (610) 970-6570 or Montgomery County Detectives at (610) 226-5553. Anonymous text tips can be submitted using MontcoCrimeTips on the STOPit! app.
