Construction work on a SEPTA train crossing will cause detours in North Wales this week.
The transit agency said that work to improve the grade crossing on Beaver Street in North Wales will take place Wednesday, June 15 and Thursday, June 16. It’s the first of several grade crossing improvement projects to take place this summer on the Lansdale/Doylestown line.
Beaver Street will be closed at the grade crossing adjacent to the North Wales regional rail station. Local traffic will be open to the crossing from both directions. However, all through traffic will be detoured around the closure onto Walnut Street.
Signs will be posted on Beaver Street, Walnut Street and Sumneytown Pike to advise motorists of the work.
Crews will be installing new signal infrastructure and milling and repaving Beaver Street on both sides of the grade crossing. Area motorists should plan for additional travel times.
