DA Launches Investigation After Montco Man Killed in Shooting Monday Night

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has announced an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred in Norristown late Monday night. 

At approximately 6 a.m. on June 7, Norristown Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Noble Street where they found the victim — identified as 56-year-old Stephan Bates, of Norristown — lying dead on the sidewalk. Bates had been shot multiple times, and initial indications are that the victim was shot late at night on June 6, investigators said.
