With berries, blossoms and yard sales popping up, Lansdale's 150th Anniversary season is in full swing.
The Lansdale 150 Committee has released an update on community activities for Summer 2022, including the traditional Strawberry Fest June 4; a tour of Lansdale's home gardens on July 9; a Community Day in The Park and Yard Sale July 16; and the Dealers Through the Decades Car Show July 30.
Details on the full slate of community events:
- On Saturday, June 4, as part of Lansdale Day hosted by the Rotary Club of North Penn, a sweet downtown tradition returns with the 150 Strawberry Fest starting at 11 a.m. at the Fairmount Fire House on Vine Street. Stop by for fresh berries, ice cream and cake. Tickets are available in advance from Lansdale Borough Hall or at First Friday June 3, or can be purchased at the door.
- Sign up for a table at the 150 Day in the Park and Community Yard Sale, coming July 16. Clear out your garage or just come to browse while enjoying everything Lansdale, with games, tasty treats, music — and the dedication of the Michael DiNunzio Memorial Gazebo in the center of Memorial Park. All are welcome; registration deadline is July 2, with forms available on the lansdale150.org site.
- Also about the Gazebo, the Lansdale 150 Commemorative Brick Sale has been extended, with a second set surrounding the Memorial Gazebo to be placed this fall. Sale information and order forms are available at Lansdale150.org.
- If you have an antique vehicle to show, you're invited to wheel it in for a special look at the conveyances that moved Lansdale over the past century-plus, in the Dealers Through the Decades Car Show on July 30. For registration form, click here.
- Have your school, organization or business (or family) join the Lansdale 150 Anniversary Parade on Saturday, Aug. 20, starting at 5 p.m. The Parade kicks off the anniversary's grand finale, Founders 150 Week. A community picnic is scheduled for the actual birthday Aug. 24, an amped-up Founders 150 Day is coming Aug. 27, and the celebration concludes with a ceremony honoring the naming of the Lansdale SEPTA passenger station to the National Register of Historic Places on Sunday morning, Aug. 28.
- And the Lansdale Open Gardens Tour, a Lansdale 150 affiliated event, spotlights more than two dozen spectacular gardens all around town, all day July 9. The tour is self-guided, registration info available at the tour's Facebook page.
