A Delaware County man has been sentenced to jail and probation after pleading guilty to having indecent contact with a juvenile female in Lansdale Borough.
Patrick Connelly, 47, of Clifton Heights, was sentenced to nine-to-23-months in county jail on Tuesday, followed by five years’ probation, after pleading guilty to one felony count of unlawful contact with a minor and misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and corruption of minors. Common Pleas Judge Wendy Rothstein also ordered Connelly to undergo a psychosexual evaluation, and he is prohibited from having contact with the victim or any other minors aside from his biological children, court records show.
Connelly will be required to register as a Tier III sex offender for the remainder of his life. Additional charges of unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, and indecent assault were dropped in exchange for his plea, according to court records.
According to a report by Carl Hessler at the Pottstown Mercury, investigators with the Lansdale Borough Police Department received a ChildLine referral in March 2020 indicating that Connelly had inappropriately touched an underage girl at a Lansdale residence. The victim — who was 10 or 11 years old at the time of the incidents — was later interviewed by Mission Kids, stating that Connelly had inappropriately touched her body on several occasions while she was in his company in Lansdale, the report states.
Court records list the date of incident as Sept. 1, 2017.
Judge Rothstein ordered Connelly turn himself in to begin his sentence on Aug. 1. Hessler’s report indicates that Connelly will be eligible for work release while serving his sentence.
