Towamencin DAR Hosts Mini Horse Show for Veterans

Veteran Paul Herman, left, rewards a miniature horse after it shows off its jumping skills, guided by a 4H Club member.

Residents of the Southeastern Veterans Center at Spring City were treated to a horse show exhibition hosted by the Towamencin Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) on June 20. The event featured four miniatures horse owned by Towamencin Daughter, Amy Kriebel, of Harleysville. Members of the 4H Club in Skippack assisted with the program.

Ambulatory residents, those in wheelchairs, and those attended by staff at the Veterans Center petted, brushed, and even did some horse whispering. The beautiful miniature horses delighted the group, mingling among the residents and entertaining them with demonstrations of their jumping skills.

Kriebel, who was honored by the Towamencin Chapter in 2021 with their Community Service award, partners with the Montgomery County 4H Club and their youth volunteers to show the horses and participate in community service activities.
