Motorcycle Operator Killed in Monday Night Crash Identified, Funeral Services Scheduled

The motorcycle operator who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Franconia Township Monday night has been identified as 28-year-old Christopher Guzman, of Hatfield.

The identity was confirmed via independent sources and Guzman’s obituary.

Prior to the crash, Guzman was working as a machinist with B&G Manufacturing in Hatfield Township. His obituary lists guitars, powersports and snowboarding among his hobbies and interests.

In addition to his parents, Guzman is survived by his siblings, Camilo Guzman (JoAnne), of Center Valley, David Guzman, of Pennsburg, and Sharon Dungan (John), of Florida; maternal grandmother, JoAnn Lombardo, of Souderton; five nieces and nephews, Alex, Sikora, Chrisian, Taylor, and Drake; and a large extended family, according to the obituary.

Visitation services will be held between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Monday, July 18, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, located at 701 Derstine Avenue in Lansdale. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m., and burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery on Sumneytown Pike in Upper Gwynedd Township.

First responders were dispatched to the intersection of Township Line Road and Devlin Way at 9:56 p.m. on July 11 for a report of a vehicle accident. Franconia Township Police told North Penn Now the crash involved a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Kawasaki z650 motorcycle.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified by police as a 28-year-old male, suffered a severe leg injury at the scene and was transported to Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Hyundai was uninjured, police said.

Township Line Road was closed for several hours between Cowpath Road and Penn Avenue. Units from Hatfield Township Police and the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale assisted at the scene, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
