Motorcycle Operator Killed in Crash on Township Line Road Monday Night

A motorcycle operator was killed on Monday night following a two-vehicle crash on Township Line Road in Franconia Township.

First responders were dispatched to the intersection of Township Line Road and Devlin Way at 9:56 p.m. for a report of a vehicle accident. Franconia Township Police told North Penn Now the crash involved a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Kawasaki z650 motorcycle.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified by police as a 28-year-old male, suffered a severe leg injury at the scene and was transported to Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Hyundai was uninjured, police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Township Line Road was closed for several hours between Cowpath Road and Penn Avenue. Units from Hatfield Township Police and the Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale assisted at the scene, police said.

North Penn Now has learned the deceased is from Hatfield, however we are withholding his name until it is officially released by police.
