North Penn School District Hires New Coordinator of Transportation

North Penn School District (NPSD) has hired Dennis Ryan to serve as the new Coordinator of Transportation. Ryan will lead the transportation department and oversee the bus routes of all North Penn students.

Dennis Ryan has worked in the educational transportation industry for over 13 years. He began as a school bus driver in 2009, and has worked as a dispatcher, certified school bus trainer and examiner, and training supervisor. Prior to joining North Penn, Ryan was the program administrator overseeing transportation for the Berks County Intermediate Unit in Reading.

“I am very excited to join North Penn at such a crucial time for school transportation,” said Ryan. “My major goals are to launch the bus ridership safety app before the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, and to continue working towards a propane bus fleet to minimize our environmental impact. I look forward to driving North Penn into the future!”

Every day, the NPSD transportation department oversees the transport of nearly 14,000 students on 133 district-owned buses. NPSD employs over 150 school bus drivers and bus aids, along with several mechanics to keep the bus fleet in top condition.
