Three Injured, One Airlifted Following Tuesday Morning Crash in Montgomeryville, Police Seek Witnesses

Three people were injured Tuesday morning following a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Stump and Horsham roads in Montgomery Township.

First responders were dispatched to the scene at 9:52 a.m. for a report of a vehicle crash. Arriving police found a crash scene involving a 2013 Toyota sedan, a 2015 Hyundai sedan, and a 2009 Suzuki GSX motorcycle.

According to Montgomery Township Police Lieutenant Gerry Dougherty, the operator of the motorcycle was airlifted via JeffSTAT2 helicopter to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia with serious injuries. Sources told North Penn Now that emergency medical personnel were performing CPR on the motorcycle operator at the scene, prior to being airlifted.

Both drivers of the sedans were taken to area hospitals with mild to moderate injuries, Dougherty said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Both Horsham and Stump roads were closed in the area of the crash for about six hours, with traffic being allowed through just prior to 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Montgomery Township Police were assisted at the scene by units from the Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale and JeffSTAT2, as well as fire police from Fairmount, Horsham, Perseverance, Upper Gwynedd, Telford, Center Square and Chalfont fire companies.
