North Penn School District’s Community Education Program (CEP) has announced its programs for Spring 2022.
This year’s class categories are Continued Learning, Aquatics, Sports and Fitness, Baking and Cooking, Arts and Crafts, Dog Obedience, and Just for Kids (athletic programs). Highlights include American Mah Jongg, Orienteering for Beginners, Walking to the Oldies, Beginner Crochet, and so much more. The North Penn High School Planetarium is offering a series of planetarium shows, covering everything from Greco-Roman Mythology to a laser show set to the music of Elton John.
CEP is offering several virtual classes to learn from the comforts of home. This year’s virtual classes include “You’re On The Air… How to Make it in Voice Overs,” French I, and several cooking classes for adults and children.
The Spring 2022 schedule includes four free events during March, April, and May as part of the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Time program. Programs will be held at the Educational Service Center in Lansdale. Registration is required to attend.
A 5% discount is available for this year’s Discount Days, taking place Thursday, Feb. 3 and Monday, Feb. 7. Registrants can save 5% on class fees by registering these days in person from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. or online from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. using discount code ONLINE%.
Any North Penn School District resident ages 60 or older is eligible to be a member of the Gold Card Club. Gold Card holders are encouraged to enroll in the Community Education Program and the Community Aquatic Program for a variety of classes and recreational activities without paying the usual registration fees. Members are entitled to one class each term for no charge or at the Gold Card reduced rate. Additionally, a Gold Card may be used for free admission to some of the musical, dramatic, and athletic events sponsored by the school district. Spring 2022 CEP classes include a series of seminars free to Gold Card holders, covering topics including Medicare, Retirement savings, and pensions.
North Penn Community Education Classes will continue to follow all district guidelines available at the time of classes, including the NPSD 2021-2022 School Health and Safety Plan and NP School Board recommendations, in accordance with the guidance provided by the Montgomery County Office of Public Health.
