21 North Penn band students successfully auditioned for the 2022 PMEA District 11 band. District 11 band invites students from Bucks and Montgomery counties to audition. These students will play in a festival at Pennsbury High School on Jan. 28, led by a guest conductor.
Additionally, 16 students successfully auditioned for the 2022 Region VI band. Students will play in a festival at Rustin High School in West Chester on March 11. Region VI invites students from Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Philadelphia, and Delaware counties to audition. All region band students will have the opportunity to audition for the PMEA All-State Band Festival, which will be held at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos from April 6 through April 9.
To audition for both district and tegional bands, students must submit an audition tape playing scales, a solo piece, and a sight-reading exercise. Judges then selected students to participate in district, regional, or both bands.
“Our students worked tirelessly, both in and out of school, to prepare for these auditions, and we are honored to have so many students represent North Penn at these prestigious events. North Penn School District has the highest representation of any school district in both bands, and we are proud of our students and our program,” said Joseph J. Santanello, Director of Bands at North Penn High School.
