A large portion of Neshaminy State Park in Bucks County was closed Saturday after the body of a woman was found.
The woman’s body was discovered in the park Saturday morning. Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources rangers and state police troopers with a regional major case unit descended on the park that spans Bensalem Township and Bristol Township’s Croydon section to investigate the death.
The cause of death wasn’t immediately released. The Bucks County Coroner will conduct an autopsy.
The body was located in the Bensalem Township portion of the park, which led to it being closed Saturday. The park reopened on Sunday.
Trooper Nathan Branosky, a state police public information officer, said the deceased woman is Black and between the ages of 40 to 50. She has the name “Lisa” tattooed on the upper part of her right arm.
The state park is 339 acres and features picnic areas, a public pool, kids’ spray park, walking paths, and boating access.
Anyone with information on the death or the woman’s identity has been asked to call state police at 215-942-3900.
