Pennypacker Mills to Host Woodstove Cooking Workshop

(The following is a release from the Montgomery County Office of Communications.)

On Saturday, January 22, visitors are invited to Pennypacker Mills to meet resident cooks who will share their knowledge of cooking on a cast iron stove fueled by wood. During the early 20th century, cooks had to periodically add fuel into the stove to keep the heating constant. Cast iron or metal pots and pans provided a good way for radiant heat to cook meals. Have you ever seen cranberry roly-polys or coffee jelly? These and other unusual wintertime foods will be prepared at this free, interactive workshop.

The event will be held in the Pennypacker Mills' classroom building. Attendance is limited, call (610) 287-9349 to reserve your time slot to attend. Masks are required to attend this workshop.
