A Philadelphia man was arrested Wednesday by Montgomery Township Police after allegedly attempting to cash a forged check at a TD Bank on the 900 block of Bethlehem Pike.
Kahleed LeSueuer, 19, was taken into custody after a bank teller realized LeSueuer was trying to cash an altered check, according to the official charging documents.
At about 5 p.m. on Feb. 9, police say they were called to the bank, where they saw LeSueuer’s blue Accord still in the drive-through lane. According to the report, when approached by an officer, he provided his state ID card as well as a TD debit card and a PNC debit card, both registered under different names.
The person who originally wrote the check was contacted, police say, and had sent the check through the mail, which was originally made out to a urology practice for $45. The amount on the altered check, police say, was $4,950.
LeSueuer was charged with felony counts of forgery, attempted theft by deception, using an access device issued to another person without authorization, receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking. Bail was set at $25,000 unsecured; a preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven
guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of
