IT Landes Donates Oil to Local Family Struggling to Heat Home

A local family struggling to heat their home during the weeks leading up to the holidays recently received some welcomed assistance courtesy of the IT Landes Home Service Team in Harleysville.

The exchange began after an IT Landes employee saw a post on a parent’s group on Facebook from a mother who said she was struggling financially and had run out of oil. The woman — whose name is being withheld but has been confirmed by this news organization — said her family had awoken to a freezing home after running out of oil, and she expressed her frustration at the situation and her lack of options to get the heat working in her home.

The IT Landes employee — identified as Nick Martins —got in contact with the mother and arranged for the company to deliver and fill a new oil tank to the home at no cost to the family.

“She was concerned with keeping her child and family warm after they ran out of oil,” said Martins. “So, we decided we wanted to do something nice and help out a member of our community.”

The family now has heat for the holidays, and in response, the young child drew a “Thank You” card for Martins. Check out the photos below.
