Montgomery County Seeks Public Input on New County Comprehensive Plan

The Montgomery County Planning Commission (MCPC) invites everyone to take part in the planning for the county’s upcoming 2050 comprehensive plan. The plan, Montco 2050: A Comprehensive Plan for a Changing World, will guide overall growth and future development and will help the county in making planning decisions with an outlook to the year 2050. The plan will look at broad issues that affect everyone’s quality of life in the county, such as land uses; housing; traffic and transit; parks, trails, and open spaces; health; utilities and infrastructure; natural and historic resources; and economic development.

Public opinion is an important element of this planning process. The plan will ultimately reflect the needs of Montgomery County residents, so the county’s goal is to hear from as many voices as possible. There are various ways for residents, businesses, schools, organizations, and others in the county to participate in creating a future vision for Montgomery County.

A public survey, offered in Korean, Spanish, and English, is available at here. Paper copies of the survey are also available by calling (610) 278-3727. The public can also visit the Montco 2050 Padlet to participate by sharing ideas and providing comments.

The goal of this inclusive, collaborative planning approach is to have the most broad-ranging comprehensive plan possible by receiving input from as many members of the public as possible. We request and encourage residents, businesses, schools, organizations, and others in the county to help us promote this effort through social media and other platforms.
