The Orchard Lights third annual “Light Up the Neighborhood” luminary and tree lighting event kicks off Saturday at the neighborhood off of Stump Road between Horsham Road and Route 309 in Montgomery Township, complete with a food drive for Manna on Main Street.
“Let’s come together to celebrate our community and end the year with fun and a beautiful display of lights. All are welcome,” states the Orchard Lights website.
Luminaries will be setup Saturday at 5 p.m., with a tree lighting set for 7 p.m. between 223 and 225 Red Haven Dr. The rain date is Dec. 11.
“Once again, we will light up the huge blue spruce tree growing between (the homes),” said the organizers.
Furthermore, there will be family activities after the tree lighting, including games, crafts, hot chocolate, and Santa photos in front of the tree.
Orchard Lights will collect donations for Manna on Main Street as well during the event. Only non-perishable, unexpired food accepted. No holiday food, no jumbo-sized food items, and no string beans and corn. Foods that are gluten-free are encouraged, as well as those with grains like barley and quinoa. Cooking condiments and spices are also appreciated.
Located behind The Village shopping area, the neighborhood is comprised of Orchard, Red Haven, Stayman, Jonathan, Henning, Bartlett and Elberta drives and MacIntosh and Damson lanes, and Windsor Circle.
