A Sellersville man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a June 2021 drug raid at his home that uncovered quantities of heroin, methamphetamine, and marijuana.
According to court records, Donald Freiwald pleaded guilty on Thursday to one felony count of possession with intent to distribute along with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, and additional counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, were dropped in exchange for his plea.
Bucks County Common Pleas Judge sentenced Freiwald to time served, followed by three years’ probation. He was immediately paroled following the hearing, court records show.
As part of the sentence, Freiwald was ordered to undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings three times per week. He was also ordered to avoid usage of illicit drugs, and he must live in a recovery home for one year.
The charges stem from a Spring 2021 investigation by the Perkasie Borough Police Department.
Police said that between March 29, 2021, and June 25, 2021, they received information stating that Freiwald was in possession of heroin and marijuana at his home in Sellersville Borough. A search warrant was ultimately served on the home on June 26, 2021, according to the criminal complaint, which lead to the discovery of more than 100 individual bags of suspected heroin, edible THC and suspected crystal methamphetamine.
Investigators also said they also retrieved two digital scales, packaging materials and a written drug ledger containing the names of clients, financial information and types of drugs sold, according to the complaint.
Freiwald was arrested on June 26, 2021, and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10% of $100,000 cash bail.
