New North Penn School District Superintendent Dr. Todd Bauer would like to take the North Penn School Board meetings on the road this school year, as part of his effort to boost community engagement under his 100-day and beyond plan, according to The Reporter Newspaper.
Lansdale Borough Manager John Ernst announced at a council meeting last week that Bauer has begun discussions with the board on having visiting meetings in the various municipalities of the district, per the report.
“Todd plans to be taking his school board meetings on the road, as he begins his tenure, and he will be having school board meetings in the various municipalities that the school district serves,” Ernst said at the meeting.
Lansdale will host the school board in January 2023, per the report. In a previous collaboration, Lansdale Borough Council held its meetings inside the North Penn Educational Services Center at Hancock Street and Church Road from 2013 to 2015 while undergoing an administration headquarters demolition and renovation.
Christine Liberaski, of North Penn School District, told The Reporter meeting dates and location are being finalized, and the opportunity allots for casual community conversations with the superintendent versus formal board meetings.
