Montgomery Township Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for a pair of thefts that occurred early Wednesday morning.
The first incident was discovered by police at 4 a.m. on Aug. 17, when officers on patrol discovered a truck along the 100 block of Birch Court with its door open outside of a garage door that was also partially open. Investigators said unknown suspects entered the unlocked truck, used the garage door opener inside of the truck to gain access to the garage, then entered another vehicle inside of the garage.
Police said nothing was stolen from the vehicle inside of the garage, however a pair of Apple Airpods and an envelope of business cards were stolen from the unlocked truck.
Half an hour later, officers on patrol discovered another vehicle with its door open along the 200 block of Westminster Drive. Like the first incident, the garage door to the home was also partially open.
Investigators said the unknown suspects entered the unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the interior before using the garage door opener to gain access to an Infinity XQ60 located inside of the garage. The keys to the vehicle had been left inside by the owner, as well as their purse and wallet.
The suspects then stole the Infinity, as well as the purse and wallet, then fled the scene.
Anyone with information regarding the incidents, suspects, or who may have surveillance footage, is asked to contact the Montgomery Township Police Department at 215-362-2301. Information can also be forwarded electronically to [email protected].
Police are also reminding residents to keep their doors locked at all times, especially when parked in an area open to the public.
