Now, with the borough’s actual birth date next Wednesday, the Lansdale 150 Celebration reaches its peak. On Aug. 24, 1872, Lansdale was officially incorporated. And
the week of Aug. 20-28 has been christened Founders 150 Week, according to the Lansdale 150 Committee.
The week kicks off with the
Lansdale 150 Anniversary Parade, all along Main Street from Mitchell to Memorial Park, on Saturday, Aug. 20, starting at 5 p.m. You’ll find a Mummers string band, a brass band, Marching Knights new and old, two Miss Pennsylvanias, a cadre of Cannoneers, a gaggle of kindergartners, floats, fire companies, free ice cream courtesy Grocery Outlet's Bliss Bus, and more fun and music!
The 150 Parade starts at Mitchell Ave. and continues East to the judging stand at Memorial Park. Come out and join the celebration and pick up a commemorative button – and then be sure to stick around town for dinner at some of Lansdale’s best dining establishments.
Saturday also kicks off the
Founders 150 Week celebration at participating borough businesses, with special discounts, commemorative products, unique drinks and more. You can pick up locally produced collectibles, and get great discounts just by mentioning Lansdale 150! For details visit

On the official birth date,
a community picnic will be held at Memorial Park, Wednesday, Aug. 24, starting at 5:30 p.m. Just bring a blanket, a basket and your brood, and enjoy a lovely summer's evening with friends and neighbors. Food vendors will be available, and the 28th Pennsylvania Regimental Brass Band will perform in the new DiNunzio Gazebo, along with some VIP guests. And join in the official 150 Drone Photo by holding a lighted balloon at dusk.
Following that, look for an amped-up
Founders 150 Day all day, all around town, on Saturday, Aug. 27, with trains, kids games, the Chamber of Commerce Health Fair, live music, vendors, beer garden, the borough’s annual Festival of the Arts in Memorial Park, an art show and sale at the Lansdale Historical Society ,and a 150-sized fireworks show to wrap up the evening at 9.
Return to town the next afternoon, Sunday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m., as the Lansdale Historical Society commemorates the naming of the
Lansdale SEPTA passenger station to the National Register of Historic Places.
