Hatfield Township will soon say goodbye to Manager Aaron Bibro, who announced this month his plan to resign by early June after nine years with the township, according to The Reporter.
Bibro, a Pittsburgh native, was hired as the replacement for departing Manager Andrew Haines in early 2013 and is the current longest-tenured municipal manager in the municipalities comprising North Penn School District. From 2010 to 2013, Bibro served as township manager for Robinson Township in Allegheny County.
This month, Hatfield Township Commissioners President Tom Zipfel said commissioners will begin advertising and interviewing for a new manager.
According to the article, Bibro’s accomplishments over the past nine years include level budgets, completion of the Cowpath and Orvilla roads realignment, building the township online presence, working together with Lansdale to operate a joint park and parking lot and working with Towamencin to remedy traffic concerns, and ushering in the Route 309 Connector project.
According to The Reporter, Bibro is the longest-tenured municipal manager, as North Wales, Lansdale, Upper Gwynedd Township, Montgomery Township, and Hatfield Borough all had managers change hands, respectively, in 2015, in 2017, the beginning of 2019, the end of 2019, the summer of 2021 and the end of 2021.
Bibro, who received a master’s degree in public administration and certificate of city management from Villanova University in 2007, is a faculty member of the Department of Public Administration at the private Catholic research university’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
