State Rep. Steve Malagari has announced that two project awards totaling $1,883,000 have been approved to enhance the Liberty Bell Trail in Lansdale Borough and Hatfield Township.
“Our community has the potential to develop one of the most-used and significant multi-use trails in the region, with the ultimate goal of connecting the Liberty Bell Trail to miles of other trails, including the Schuylkill River Trail in Norristown,” Malagari said. “The potential for connecting communities and providing walkers, runners and cyclists with the opportunity to add a recreational option in our backyard is the reason I have worked for about two years with local stakeholders on this valuable project.”
Funding for two projects have been approved in Malagari’s district for the Liberty Bell Trail:
The Biden administration awarded $54.1 million to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation through the Surface Transportation Block Grant program Set-Aside or Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside. Before the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, only $18 million would have been available to the state. Find more information on these projects here.
