A Bucks County man is facing felony sex abuse charges after he allegedly engaged in sexual activities with his friend’s 14-year-old son several years ago.
Jason Batistoni, 46, of Bristol Borough, has been charged with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a victim less than 16 years old and corruption of minors, in connection with an investigation by the Perkasie Borough Police Department.
Investigators were contacted on Feb. 10 by Bucks County Children and Youth regarding a male victim who alleged that two adult men had sexual contact with him when he was a juvenile. The victim met with police later that day and stated that approximately four years ago — when he was a 14-year-old beginning eighth grade — he began to question his sexual orientation and confided in a gay couple that was friends with his mother, according to charging documents.
The couple consisted of Batistoni and another man, police said.
The victim told investigators that he would frequently spend time alone with the two men, including sleepovers at their house, and the three eventually began engaging sexual activities together, according to the criminal complaint. In addition to those incidents, the victim also described an incident at his Perkasie home during the spring of 2018, in which Batistoni allegedly engaged in oral sex with the victim, police said.
The current set of charges are based off the alleged Spring 2018 incident, according to court records. The criminal complaint notes that all facts and details have not been released, including the location of the other alleged sexual encounters. The name of the second man is being withheld, as he has not yet been charged with a crime.
The investigation is ongoing.
Batistoni was arraigned on Wednesday by District Judge Regina Armitage, who set bail at $250,000 unsecured. His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on May 10 at 1 p.m. in front of Judge Armitage.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
