A Blue Bell man is in custody at county jail after investigators executed a search warrant on his apartment and allegedly recovered guns, drugs and a large amount of cash.
Sultan Johns, 25, has been charged with felony counts of prohibited possession of a firearm, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, in connection with the investigation.
Authorities executed the search warrant on his apartment at 10:55 a.m. on April 1. Items recovered at the scene include 13 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl, multiple bags of cocaine, a loaded Glock handgun, an AR-15 style DTI pistol with a loaded magazine, a digital scale and drug packaging materials, police said.
Investigators also located three cell phones and $6,000 in cash on Johns’ person, according to charging documents.
Due to a prior felony drug conviction in New Jersey, Johns is prohibited from owning a firearm. He was still on probation for that conviction at the time the search warrant was executed, according to the criminal complaint.
Johns was arraigned that evening by District Judge Margaret Hunsicker, who set bail at $50,000 cash. His next court appearance is a preliminary hearing on April 14 at 9:30 a.m. in front of District Judge Suzan Leonard.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
