A fundraiser has been launched for a local family who recently suffered one of the most unimaginable tragedies a family could endure: the loss of a child.
Shane Williams, who was a fifth-grade student at North Wales Elementary, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 8, after a month-long battle with an illness at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death, per reports.
In addition to the loss of their son, the Williams family now has to face the financial fallout, including hospital and funeral expenses. Fortunately, a fundraiser was launched over the weekend, and the community has shown their support for the Williams family in their greatest time of need.
To date, the fundraiser has brought in $33,060, which has already surpassed the initial goal of $20,000. To make a donation, click here.
Editor’s note: North Penn Now would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the Williams family, as they make their way through this unfathomable trauma. We will keep you in our thoughts and are here if you need anything.
