Lower Perkiomen Valley Park Announces Upcoming Spring Events

The public is invited to join in the fun of springtime events at Lower Perkiomen Valley Park. Back by popular demand is Orienteering for Beginners and our Digital Scavenger Hunt. Each event will guarantee a great family outing to enjoy the park, nearby trails and the wonderful warmer weather.

Orienteering for Beginners

Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m.

Join the Delaware Valley Orienteering Association (DVOA) at the park to learn about and try your skills at the fun activity of orienteering. Orienteering is an activity which includes using a map to find locations much like a treasure hunt. Instructions in basic orienteering will be from 10 to 11 a.m. and then the fun of trying it yourself will begin on a course designed for new folks to the sport. Pre-registration required by April 21. Participants should meet at the main pavilion, this event is rain or shine.

Appropriate for all ages—children must be accompanied by an adult; suggested donation $2 per person. Register online at EventBrite.

Digital Scavenger Hunt

Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Bring your cell phone and/or digital cameras, your walking shoes and a good sense of observation as we send you out into the park and nearby trails to find different natural and man-made objects. Take a photo of the object, and then come back and share in order to claim a prize when you find them all! Pre-registration required by May 18; participants should meet at the park office to start their adventure, this event is rain or shine.

Lower Perkiomen Valley Park is an over 100 acre park conveniently located for those seeking a little reprieve in a busy world. The park, a major regional trail hub, connects directly to the Perkiomen Trail and Audubon Loop Trail and is an easy connector to the Schuylkill River Trail. Rental pavilions, a playground, basketball court, access to the Perkiomen Creek and more make this a wonderful haven for lovers of the outdoors. The park is open from sunrise to sunset every day but Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Days.
