International Spring Festival Set to Return on April 23 at North Penn High School

The 32nd Annual International Spring Festival will be held later this month, celebrating multi-cultural diversity through the visual, culinary and performing arts of more than 30 countries, and boasting an additional Family Health and Wellness Fair.

The ISF is one of the largest multicultural festivals in the mid-Atlantic region, attracting thousands of people each year.

The festival will be held on April 23 at North Penn High School from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. At 11:30 a.m., a grand parade will kick off the festivities, followed by anticipated appearances by Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, U.S. Congresswoman Madeleine Dean and other elected officials from the state, county and local levels on the main stage at noon.

The nationally acclaimed Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Troupe and the Fralinger String Band — dubbed "The Ultimate in Mummers Entertainment" — will be featured, along with 40 different cultural and nationality bands, singers, and dancers, including Fitzpatrick School of Irish Dance, International Ballet, and Guang Hua Chinese School.

The Family Health and Wellness Fair at the International Spring Festival will feature free interactive health exhibits, resource information and free health screenings from a variety of providers. Rapping About Prevention, Inc. and the North Penn YMCA will engage families in energizing, fun exercises and the Volunteer Medical Services Corps of Lansdale will provide hands-only CPR education and demonstrate emergency equipment. The Jaisohn Medical Center and Asian American Coalition will be providing a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic, and free cancer prevention and screening information will be provided by the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center Mobile Screening Van in the front parking lot.

Veterans who bring their DD214 can also receive free photo ID cards that can be used for discounts throughout the county, that will be issued by the staff of Jeanne Sorg, Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds.

There are many fun and educational activities for children, including trying on culture specific attire and costumes and playing with musical instruments from various countries. The Passport Program is an activity in which kids learn facts about different countries and upon completion of the program, they have a chance to create art as well as win prizes.
