Community Mental Health Series Set For Christ Lutheran Church

The global pandemic made many physically ill, but almost everyone has been impacted by the upheaval of daily life.  The stress of change and conflict has never been more widely felt. Area professionals and agencies will present a series of events to empower community members to care for themselves and each other.

All events are FREE and open to the public, but registration is required at www.christlc.org.  In-person events will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 2211 Mainland Rd., Harleysville, and will follow COVID-19 masking protocols. Questions can be directed to (215) 256-8738.

The evening lectures will be available in a hybrid format — in-person and online.  (The Mental Health First Aid Training requires both online and in person participation.)

On the schedule:
  • Thursday, Sept. 30, 7 pm: Substance Abuse and Recovery, by St. Luke’s Penn Foundation
  • Saturday, Oct. 2, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm: Mental Health First Aid Training; certification includes two hours of online before the in-person training.  Requires separate previous registration, www.fivecountymh.org.
  • Thursday, Oct. 14, 7 pm: Mental Wellness by Montgomery County chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
  • Thursday, Oct. 21, 7 pm: COVID-19 Parenting Guide, with Lois Dodson, BA, M.Ed, community leader in pediatric mental health
This series has been underwritten by a generous grant in memory of Pat DiNenno.
