Lansdale Man Airlifted with Injuries Following Vehicle Crash in Towamencin Monday Afternoon

A local man was hospitalized on Monday afternoon following a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Allentown and Forty Foot roads in Towamencin Township.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 4:31 p.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash, and arriving officers found a 2021 Ford Ranger located off the road in a nearby wooded area. The driver, identified as a 34-year-old male from Lansdale, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash, and he was subsequently airlifted by JeffSTAT 2 to Abington-Jefferson Hospital for treatment.

The victim is expected to recover, said Towamencin Police Chief Tim Troxel, who described the injuries as non-life-threatening.

North Penn Now has received information stating the victim was a local volunteer firefighter. Troxel said he could not confirm that detail, however he did confirm that the vehicle had a firefighter registration plate.

The roadways were closed for approximately one hour, with the scene being cleared at 5:46 p.m., Troxel said. Units from Hatfield Township Police, Towamencin Fire Company, Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale and Harleysville Fire Police assisted at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Troxel said.
