The 2021 Under the Lights Car Show, delayed just a bit by pandemic precautions, returns this Saturday evening, Sept. 25, all along Main Street in Lansdale Borough.
The Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale’s annual major fundraiser, now in its 30th year, features hundreds of motorized conveyances in competition, classic to current, from the turn of the 20th century right to today. (The show normally runs in June each year; it was canceled in 2020 due to COVID.)
The event begins at 7 p.m., rain or shine; Main Street will be closed to traffic starting earlier in the day for the event.
The Fairmount Fire Company says it will have few food vendors at the event, and encourages those in attendance to visit the town’s many eateries and support local businesses.
Pre-registration will take place at the Fairmount Fire Station, 100 Vine St., on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Cars can also register the day of the event; participants are asked to travel down Whites Road and turn onto Cannon Avenue to register. A link to the registration form can be found on
the Fairmount Fire Company website, fairmountfireco.com.
All pre-registered cars will receive a dash plaque for this year's event. A DJ will provide music Saturday evening. For the latest information, check
Fairmount Fire Company’s event page on Facebook.
