WATCH: Firefighters Dealing with Two-Alarm Residential Blaze in Upper Gwynedd

UPDATE: Sept. 15, 11:21 a.m.: North Penn Now photographer Bob Kelly is reporting that the homeowner and two children were able to escape the blaze without injury. The location has been identified as the 400 block of Carmichael Drive.

Police are advising that people stay away from the scene so first responders have room to safely work. Additionally, police have confirmed power has been cut to a number of homes in the area.

Area fire companies are at the scene of a residential blaze in Upper Gwynedd Township.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, crews were dispatched to a home near the intersection of Carmichael Drive and West Prospect Avenue at 10:28 a.m. for a report of a residential fire. Sources tell North Penn Now that arriving units encountered a fully-involved blaze with heavy fire showing from the home.

There is currently no information available regarding injuries. A source has told North Penn Now that a second alarm has been struck.

Units from the North Penn Fire Company, Upper Gwynedd Fire Department, Wissahickon Fire Company, Worcester Fire Company, Towamencin Fire Company, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Fairmount Fire Company, Hatfield Fire Company, Upper Gwynedd Police Department, Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale and Second Alarmers Rescue Squad are currently on scene, according to the department of public safety.
