(The following is a release from the Hatfield Township Police Department.)
During the weekend of Sept. 10 through Sept. 12, the North Penn Area DUI Enforcement Team will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in Towamencin Township along Route’s 463, 363, 63 or other roadways. This effort is to identify and remove impaired drivers from the roadway. Roving DUI Patrols will also be conducted in other North Penn area police department jurisdictions which will include route Routes 309, 29 and 663.
This checkpoint and roving patrols will be conducted in areas that have been identified as locations where alcohol has been a significant factor. In addition to driving under the influence, enforcement will also include child restraint systems, unlicensed or suspended operator licenses, proof of insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle equipment and other traffic violations.
