Montgomery County Identifies Three Storm-Related Victims of Ida

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified three county residents who died as the history-making remnants of Hurricane Ida made their way across the area Wednesday.

In a release Friday afternoon, County Coroner Dr. Michael Milbourne's office released the names of the following:
  • Maxine Weinstein, 68 year old female, of Fort Washington, died at home September 1. Cause of death is traumatic asphyxia and the manner of death is accidental.
  • Craig Messinger, 70 year old male, of Schwenksville, was found dead in Skippack Township on September 2. Cause of death is drowning and the manner of death is accidental.
  • Jack Caroluzzi, 65 year old male, of Bridgeport, died at home on September 2. The cause of death is pending investigation and the manner of death is also pending.
A multi-agency investigation is ongoing, and the coroner’s office is charged with positively identifying the deceased, ensuring the legal next of kin have been notified of the death, and determining cause and manner of death.

Ida's remnants caused historic flooding of the entire Northeast U.S., causing dangerous driving conditions along hundreds of area roads, and spawning at least seven confirmed tornadoes, including one that tore through the Fort Washington area.
