Cue The Fireworks: Lansdale's Founders Day Makes Its Comeback Saturday

Saturday’s forecast for Lansdale: Partly cloudy, cool and dry — with 100% chance of fireworks!

Nearly two months after Mother Nature washed out the borough’s biggest bash of the year, Founders Day v.2 brings back several of the signature events residents have come to love about the annual celebration of the town’s birthday.

On Saturday, Oct. 23, events are scheduled from morning till night, all around town, sponsored by Discover Lansdale and its partners:
  • An art show and sale at Railroad Plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Note that this is separate from the 2021 Lansdale Festival of the Arts that was canceled in August.)
  • The 8th Annual Community Health and Wellness Fair by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Madison Street adjacent to the Plaza. Details and updates on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
  • A display of model trains at the Lansdale Public Library by the Keystone N-Trak Club, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • A beer-garden benefit for the Lansdale Library on Green Street at the Century Plaza lot from noon to 6 p.m. It’s one of the library’s biggest fundraisers of the year, and every three beers sold puts a new book on the shelves. Food trucks will also be on site.
  • Music on the main stage at Century Plaza from noon to 6 p.m. The Philly Funk Authority will be featured live from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., with Evans Entertainment DJ from noon to 1:30 and 4:30 to 6 p.m.
  • And what would a Founders Day be without fireworks? Pyrotechnics wrap up the day at 7 p.m. around Memorial Park.
The theme of this year’s Founders Day is 'Preserving Our Past,' honoring the 50th anniversary of the Lansdale Historical Society. The LHS on Saturday is hosting its 10th annual Tea in Britain, a full high tea presented by Tea Sommelier Karen Donnelly, at 11 a.m. in Borough Hall; attendance is by preregistration only (closed). Other LHS commemorations were held earlier in September, including the awarding of Lansdale’s Lifetime Achievement Award to long-time local businessman and community supporter Raymond E. Walton.
