Philadelphia Homicide Suspect May Be in Lansdale Area, Montco Sheriff’s Office Says

31-year-old Michael Thompson.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert that a Philadelphia homicide suspect may currently be staying in the Lansdale area.

On Wednesday afternoon, the sheriff’s office issued a Most Wanted Criminal Fugitive post through their social media accounts in reference to 30-year-old Michael Anthony Thompson, who has two active warrants for his arrest in Montgomery County. In the case of one of the warrants, Thompson missed a pre-trial conference on Sept. 22 in connection with a domestic incident that occurred in Montgomery Township in February 2020. In that case, Thompson was charged with felony strangulation and related offenses, according to a review of court records.

Thompson is also wanted on murder charges in connection with a homicide that occurred in Philadelphia, the report states.

The sheriff’s office said Thompson has last known addresses along the 1200 block of Welsh Road in Montgomery Township (North Wales mailing address) and the 1600 block of West Butler Street in Philadelphia. The report states that Thompson may still be in the Lansdale area.

Philly’s Most Wanted lists Thompson as a 31-year-old Black male standing 5-foot-11-inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds. Thompson also has tattoos on both arms, as well as the left side of his neck.

Anyone who may recognize Thompson or know his whereabouts is asked to contact 9-1-1. Tips can also be sent anonymously here.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using court records and the affidavit of probable cause.
