North Penn School Board Candidate Debate Scheduled for Monday, Open to Public

A public debate has been scheduled for next week between four of North Penn School District’s Democrat incumbent school board members versus their challenging Republican counterparts.

The debate is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the North Penn High School auditorium, located at 1340 Valley Forge Road in Towamencin Township. Incumbent candidates, dubbed the “North Penn Neighbors for Progress,” include Tina Stoll, Christian Fusco, Jonathan Kassa and Al Roesch, who will square off against challengers Jessie Bradica, Michael Kennedy, Frederick Froelich and Harry Snyder, under the “North Penn Stronger Together” moniker.

Issues to be debated include budget philosophy, COVID-19, infrastructure, and academic programs. The debate is being organized and moderated by staffers from North Penn High School’s student-run newspaper, The Knight Crier.

“One of the main reasons we are hosting the event is because we care about our school community. We want to share information and provide each side an equal opportunity to display their views on how they best plan to help the North Penn School District,” said Milan Varia, Executive Editor of The Knight Crier. “We also think it's important for us to do be doing this as students. Our school is integral to the community, and we make sure that when the time to vote comes, people are confident in the candidates they choose.”

No live audience questions will be permitted during the debate, however constituents may email questions for the candidates in advance by sending the questions to [email protected]. Mask are required for all attendees, organizers said.
