Pennypacker Mills Announces Holiday Tours

The public is invited to schedule a visit to Pennypacker Mills to celebrate the best in vintage Christmas décor and history. Holiday tours will run Tuesday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022.

Recalling a time when electricity was not available, visitors enter a family home resplendent in shine with sparkling glass ornaments and gold and silver Dresden foil ornaments. Simply wrapped presents, a Pennsylvania German putz, kerosene lamps, vintage Christmas cards, children’s toys, and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree are all part of the holiday season. Visitors can experience the holiday traditions of the Pennypacker family, find new and exciting ways to decorate their own home, and marvel at both the formality of the first-floor entertainment venues and the family quarters found on the second floor.

Visitors can also stop by the museum shop to find glass ornaments and icicles, felt ornaments, Dresdens, toys, Victorian Scrap images to decorate presents and much more for sale. The exhibit, “Greetings from Schwenksville” is also included on all visits to the Mills.

Reservations are required. Please call (610) 287-9349 or email [email protected] to schedule a holiday tour. Groups are limited to 10 people or less. Masks must be worn indoors, and social distancing is encouraged. Holiday tours are free with a suggested donation of $2 per person.
