(The following information was provided by Variety – The Children’s Charity.)

Variety – the Children’s Charity of the Delaware Valley (Variety) will once again be spreading joy this holiday season through Variety’s Holiday Lane.

From Dec. 1 – 4, Variety will transform its 77-acre campus into a winter wonderland. This exciting event includes themed decorated cabins, a holiday craft bazaar, live entertainment, strolling characters, complimentary hot cocoa, various children’s activities, a warm bonfire, and festive outdoor decorations. The event’s presenting sponsor is Syngenius.

Visitors can walk or drive along a festive Holiday Lane in which the exterior of the organization’s rustic cabins will be lit up with holiday lights and decorated in holiday themes by Variety local community groups who will compete for the votes of the public who attend the event. Groups include SunEast Credit Union, Syngenius Inc., local Girl Scout Troops, Old York Road Garden Club, plus other amazing community partners. It is these types of collaborations that continue to fuel Variety’s long-term sustainability.

“Variety is one of the only organizations in the region that provides a host of on-site programming for children and young adults with disabilities ranging from Summer Day Camp, Saturday Respite Camps, and Extended School Year to an innovative workforce development program, we call VarietyWorks,” said Dominique Bernardo, CEO of Variety – the Children’s Charity of the Delaware Valley. “Holiday Lane supports all of these efforts.”

At Holiday Lane, families can enjoy displays of Old Fashion Christmas, Candyland, Frozen and many more as well as costumed actors from Methacton Community Theater. The event culminates at Variety’s decorated 1700s Farmhouse where live entertainment including Irish dancers from Dancing on Eire School of Irish Dance and local singing groups.

Upon arrival, visitors can warm up with a complimentary hot cocoa by the VarietyWorks workforce development program. In addition, baked goods and handcrafted items made by VarietyWorks participants will be available for purchase at a Holiday Bazaar. There will also be a children’s activity area with activities geared for children of all abilities. On Friday, December 3rd, a Master Builder from LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Philadelphia will be on site to teach and help children build festive block structures.

Finally, visitors can win exciting prizes in the basket raffle or in the Hall of Trees in which winners win decorated trees! Visitors can also shop at a Holiday Bazaar featuring handmade items crafted by Variety kids throughout the year.

The event is a wonderful, family-friendly opportunity to visit Variety’s campus and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season while supporting a local organization who strives to continuously provide social and educational programs for the disabilities’ community in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.
